"Solitary Tango" is a collection of 19 travel stories about various episodes that a solo female traveller can meet with on her journeys. The stories cover a long period of time in the narrator's life kept together by the solo female traveller, who is seen as a strange bird in the landscape.

The book begins and ends in Paris and the other countries visited are Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, The Dominican Republic, Haiti, Finland, Spain and India.

Viveca Tallgren

Viveca Tallgren was born in Helsinki, Finland and came to Denmark in the sixties and lives in Copenhagen. She has an MA in Spanish Philology and has worked as a teacher of Spanish in different high schools and at Copenhagen Business School. She is also a free lance writer and has written to magazines and newspapers in Finland, Spain and Denmark.

She has published textbooks for the teaching of Spanish in Denmark. In 2005 she published a book on the Spanish author Fernando Arrabal, "El temor al dios Pan" (Libros del innombrable, Zaragoza).

The Danish version of Solitary Tango was published in 2017 with the title "Tango for én".
